About Me

Social

So first of all, I’d like to thank you for joining me on this journey.

I’m now taking the time to use my skills to inspire you to travel and lead a healthier life.

So here’s a little bit about me for those that are curious or just found me:

History

My name is Yessika Marmol, I was born and raised in a small town called Levittown in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico on June 3rd. My family is from the Dominican Republic and they fought hard to come to Puerto Rico for a chance at ‘the American Dream’ that thanks to them, my siblings and me have the blessing of enjoying.

And yes, Puerto Ricans are citizens of the United States as it is a US territory, for the time being.

Legend says my grandfather was granted a visa or residency card after while serving in the military he spent months in the jungle waiting and stalking to capture one of America’s Most Wanted fugitives at the time. He succeeded of course and was granted the golden ticket. He instead asked if my grandmother (his sister) could go in his place so she could give her kids a better life.

Education & Career

I studied marketing in high school and somehow managed to get into college and finish a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and marketing 8 years later (that party life, man).

I also manage to squeeze in an Associate’s degree in the Art & Science of Photography with gave me all the tools I needed to open my own photo studio called Pequenos Angelitos, specializing in newborn and maternity photography.

I also did some weddings and fashion pieces, but after a while, nothing really challenged me.

So after a couple of years of running that successful studio, after the death of my French stepfather, I decided it was time to expand my horizons so I moved to Paris

He always told me to go to France to find myself “a nice French husband” so after he passed away I decided to make the move to the City of Love, but instead of focusing on finding a husband I decided to further my education and career instead –Desolée!

I did manage to snag me one of them sexy French hubbies though. But like any expat relationship, it’s a struggle to even understand each other sometimes. We lasted a good two years, but upon our break up at the beginning of 2018, my new Belgian boyfriend Jan quickly came and swept me away!

While here, I finished an MBA in Fashion and Luxury, which was a lot of fun, which I deeply regret not vlogging, and then started to work for a company which allowed me to travel all around Europe and UK trading precious metals.

Now what?

Now I’m working for myself with various things such as my online media company called Urban Media Factory which I run from Paris, and my partner and best friend, Luis Felipe runs the USA branch from Puerto Rico.

I’m also an eyelash extension specialist which helps me get my eyes out of a computer screen for a while since most of my jobs entail staring at a screen for hours!

My goal for this site is not only to show my friends and family back home another part of the world, as half of which will probably never get the chance to come to Europe unfortunately, but also to be able to share motivational and informative stuff that can help and inspire people to go out and travel!
